Minister Delić began his working visit to New York with a meeting with Ambassador Lagumdžija

On October 30, the Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the UN, Ambassador dr Zlatko Lagumdžija, met with the Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Adnan Delić, who is on a working visit to the United States as a member and representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Global Care Alliance.
Dr Lagumdžija and Minister Delić discussed the sustainable goals of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path to EU accession, as well as the care economy and the responsibilities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the framework of accession to this Global platform. Dr Lagumdžija emphasized the importance of the initiative of the Permanent Missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy to form the “Group of Friends of the Western Balkans 2030 for the SDG and the European Union.” This initiative proposes strengthening cooperation and integration among Western Balkan countries in their pursuit of sustainable development and socioeconomic growth, incorporating applicable EU integration processes, as well as United Nations activities.

Dr. Lagumdžija briefed Minister Delić on the current developments in the United Nations, and Minister Delić presented the Global Care Economy platform and the efforts through which the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy will implement policies to establish the foundations for the development of the care economy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This includes the adoption of legal and strategic documents and action plans for their implementation.

During the meeting, it was also emphasized that the Care Economy and the programs through which it is implemented are carried out by Federal Ministry in collaboration with UN Women in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Adnan Delić, is in New York to commemorate International Care Day, which will be observed on Tuesday, October 31, at the UN headquarters in New York. During a panel discussion, he will present the Care Economy program in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina alongside representatives of Alliance member countries. Minister Delić will also meet with the leadership of the UN Women organization, the head of the economic empowerment department, and other representatives of the organization during his visit to New York.
