Ambassador Mirsada Čolaković met with Ambassador Samantha Power
The Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Mirsada Čolaković welcomed Ambassador Samantha Power, Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations, on November 26, 2014.
Ambassador Power, who initiated this meeting, visited the Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereby she expressed her personal commitment to stability and prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed at the meeting during which Ambassador Power expressed interest in the process of implementing election results towards formation of the new parliament and government in our country. In addition, Ambassador Power urged the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to establish their government as soon as possible on all levels in order to enable the efficient functioning of the legislative and executive institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the economic and social prosperity.
Ambassador Čolaković informed her of the election results in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the post-election actions taken. In addition, she spoke about the dedication of the newly elected members for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the continuing and growing cooperation between the two countries.
Both ambassadors expressed their satisfaction on the cooperation between the Permanent Missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the U.S. to the United Nations in New York City. Ambassador Power was especially interested in the achievements accomplished by Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding trust and peace in the country. She mentioned how she, herself, participated in projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 90s and she hopes to visit our country in the near future.
Ambassador Power noted the priorities of the United States of America according to the domain of activity of the United Nations, especially concerned about keeping global peace and safety, as well as protecting human rights through the collaboration of all Member States of the United Nations.
