Diplomatic relations with the Member States of the United Nations:

Since the Headquarters of the United Nations is the sole global organization that has permanent representatives of all Members States, the Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations in New York has played a significant role in establishing of diplomatic relations.
So far Bosnia and Herzegovina has established diplomatic relations with 172 UN-Member States.

Year 2014:

• 6 March 2014: Commonwealth of Dominica

Bosnia Herzegovina and the Commonwealth of Dominica have established diplomatic relations between the two respective countries as of 6 March 2014. The Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations was signed by Her Excellency Ms. Mirsada Čolaković, Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations and H.E. Mr. Vince Henderson, Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations.
At the signing ceremony, the Permanent Representative of Dominica particularly thanked Ambassador Ćolaković for the initiative and expresses his assurances that this is just the first step in the beginning of a more sustained relationship.

• 4 June 2014: Republic of Seychelles

 

On 4 June 2014 Bosnia and Herzegovina has formally established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Seychelles.
The Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations was signed by Her Excellency Ms. Mirsada Čolaković, Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations and Her Excellency Ms. Marie Louise Potter, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Seychelles to the United Nations.
The establishment of diplomatic relations seeks to promote mutual understanding and strengthening of friendship and cooperation between the two nations, guided by the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter and in international law.
Ambassador Potter expressed Seychelles’ solidarity with the Bosnia and Herzegovina following the recent natural disaster that struck the country. The Ambassadors discussed the potential for cooperation between the countries particularly in areas of Trade and Tourism. During the meeting Seychelles proposed to sign a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) and Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA). They also sought to support in other their respective bids for the United Nations Security Council and the Human rights Council.
Both Seychelles and Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed to continue collaborating on global issues of mutual concerns.
