2019 United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial on Uniformed Capabilities, Performance and Protection
The United Nations hosted the 2019 United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial on Uniformed Capabilities, Performance and Protection on 29 March 2019 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.The UN Secretary-General, Mr. AntónioGuterres opened the Ministerial,withAngelina Jolieactress, filmmaker, and humanitariandelivering a keynote address.
Delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Ministerial was headed by H.E. Mr. Igor Crnadak, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Other members of the delegation included Mr. Zoran Šajinović, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation, Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Šejla Đurbuzović, Chargé d’Affaires in the Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colonel Jasmin Katica, Military Adviser in the Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ms. MilicaŠupić, Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In a statement delivered during the conference H.E. Mr. Crnadak underlined a commitment of Bosnia and Herzegovina for a more active role in a peacekeeping operations, including through extending its expertise and training capacities to the United Nations. As noted in the statement, and regarding our responsibility to create and maintain secure peacekeeping operations, Bosnia and Herzegovina will undertake all necessary efforts to pledge national training capacities as follows:
- The Peace Support Operations Training Centre in Sarajevo will offer:
a) UN Military Experts on Mission Course;
b) UN Police Course;
c) UN Staff Officers Course;
d) Tactical Protection of Civilians in Peace Support Operations Course;
e) Utility of Gender in Peace Support Operations Course;
2. The Center for Mine Action and Destruction of Unexploded Ordnance will offer the Explosive Ordnance Reconnaissance (EOR) Course;
3. The Demining Battalion of Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina will offer the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Course;
