On November 20th, 2018 Ms. Zana Marjanovic, the Executive Producer of the documentary ReGeneration, a film by Emir Kapetanovic, visited the Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations and met with H.E. Ambassador Ivica Dronjic. Ms. Zana Marjanovic is a famous Bosnian actress who starred in the film “In the Land of Blood and Honey” by Angelina Jolie, and most recently “A Rose in Winter” by Joshua Sinclair.
ReGeneration project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and conducted in partnership with Magazine Cabaret and International Republican Institute (IRI) is an attempt to overcome the legacy of the brutal interethnic conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s.
The documentary follows 10 young Bosnians, ” reconciliation ambassadors”, from some of the country’s most divided cities, as they come to terms with their past and envision their future.
The young leaders visited each other’s hometowns, learned the stories of their elders and peers – war veterans, survivors, politicians, journalists, religious leaders, and community activists and saw the legacy of the atrocities of a war that happened before they were born from different perspectives.
These ambassadors are determined to never give up – on each other, or on the country, they love.
The US premiere of the film, organized by the Permanent Missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and United States of America in cooperation with the producers, the International Republican Institute and Magazine Cabaret, will be on the 26th November 2018 at the ECOSOC hall in the UN HQ. Those who wish to attend should register on the e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday, 23rd November.
