The International workshop Implemenatation Guidence on Voncouver Principleswas held in Ottawa (Canada) on February 5th, 6th and 7th, 2019.The workship has been focused onthe development of the Implementation Guidance for the Vancouver Principles (IGVP), to help Member States translate the Vancouver Principles into meaningful action in the context of UN peacekeeping operations.

Colonel Jasmin Katica, Military Advisor to the Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the UN in New York, participated inthe International workshop Implemenatation Guidence on Voncouver Principlesas the representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Launched on 15 November 2017, the Vancouver Principles on Peacekeeping and the Prevention of the Recruitment and Use of Child Soldiers (known as the Vancouver Principles) are a set of non-binding political commitments aimed at preventing the recruitment and use of children by armed forces and armed groups during the conduct of United Nations (UN) peace operations. Structured around the 17 Vancouver Principles, this strategic—Ievel guidance is meant to provide practical information on how to implement each principle.
